SHOCKING: WILL THE THEATERS IN TAMIL NADU GO ON STRIKE AGAIN?

Yet again, the controversy on double taxation for cinema tickets in Tamil Nadu resurfaces. The state government is to levy 10% entertainment tax over the already existing 18% GST. The theater owners are striking against this move by the Government of Tamil Nadu and there is a meeting set to happen tomorrow, the 4th of October.

The theater owners association is going to be a major part of this meeting, while the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council, Nadigar Sangam, FEFSI, and the Film Chamber of Commerce will also be present at this huge meeting. Post this meeting, a fitting decision will be taken whether the theaters will be going in a strike or a solution will be taken in this regard.
