Rajinikanth's Petta, directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner Sun Pictures, released on 10th January. It had Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and others playing crucial roles.
The film earned a blockbuster status at the box office, and is still running in a few theatres. The makers had released four deleted scenes from the movie on the Sun NXT app and website. One among them was the video of Thappad Maara song. It is supposed to be Jithu's intro song, and features a spoof of a Ramarajan's film too.
Petta had music by Anirudh Ravichander, and cinematography by Thirunavukarasu. After Petta, Rajinikanth will be seen in a film directed by AR Murugadoss, which will be the 166th film of his stellar career.
