The National Film Academy, on January 15, announced the nominations for the National Film Awards UK for 2018, and a tremendously pleasant surprise came for Thalapathy Vijay fans all over the world.
Mersal, Vijay's superhit film directed by Atlee, has been nominated as one of the candidates for the Best Foreign Language Film award - and is the only entry from India.
This is a massive leap for the film, and is another milestone after box office success and public reach.
Suriya and Vignesh ShivN’s Thaana Serndha Koottam has just released for Pongal 2018 and the film has opened well at the box-office. Surprisingly, a particular source reveals that the overseas version of TSK has a totally different end credits. It looks like an entire scene has been shot for this end credit portion but due to unknown reasons the TSK team has decided to edit out this scene from the versions playing here.
This overseas version (with yellow subtitles), has Keerthy Suresh and Ramya Krishnan trying to get onto a ship that is en-route Singapore. It is a comedy scene that has a Baahubali connect and names like Maghizhmathi and Sivagami from the epic film are heard in this version.
Also, the scene has an extension into the ship where Suriya is seen along with Senthil, Sathyan and others. This extended scene which features all the artists, has a Mersal connect. Actor Senthil rephrases one of SJ Suryah’s popular dialogues from the Vijay film. It is none other than SJ Suryah’s dialogue, “Inum 25-30 years la normal delivery na shock aavanga paaru”. This has been rephrased by Senthil in the TSK end credits as, “Inum 25-30 years la Kalyanam na shock aavanga paaru!”. Quite a funny end credits scene by the TSK team for the overseas version.
