Vivekh made his silver screen debut with K Balachander’s Manathil Urudhi Vendum. In most of his films, Vivekh parodied social ills. He made the fans laugh and think with his humor. In Tirunelveli, Palayathu Amman, Kadhal Sadukudu and Saamy, he spoke about caste inequality and in Thirumalai, he spoke out against the idea of social reforms through his characters. Fans affectionately called him Chinna Kalaivanar.
Vivekh has acted in more than 200 films in 34 years, traveling with all the leading actors from Rajinikanth to Simbu, Dhanush to today's generation of actors like Harish Kalyan. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2009. Vivekh has won the Tamil Nadu Government Award for Best Comedian five times. He passed away of a heart attack at the age of 59 last Saturday.
