The Vijay-starrer Bigil has set the cash registers ringing, as the sports-based action drama managed to garner a massive 10.79 crore rupees at the Chennai box office within ten days of its release. Directed by Atlee, the film starred Nayanthara as female lead.
Apart from the leads, the film featured some praiseworthy supporting performances from Jackie Shroff, Vivekh, Yogi Babu and others. One of the most notable aspects of Bigil is that the narrative charts the riise of a women's football team. The team's cast consisted of actors and professional football players.
In a special interview to Behindwoods, players Shobana and Kanimozhi, who essayed the footballer roles in the film, spoke about their acting experience in Bigil and the on-set stories.
On working with director Atlee, they said, "During the first day of shoot, Atlee said 'This is a football film, hence the story revolves around you. We will take utmost care and you have to adhere to what the film demands. Consider me as your elder brother and you can approach me with your concerns. I am responsible for your well-being on set', till date, he is our elder brother. Through Bigil, we found a good brother."
