Tamil Nadu's first mimicry artist passes away

Rocket Ramanathan was one of the most popular actors in Tamil Cinema. He had the ability to speak in multiple voices and is considered to be Tamil Nadu’s first mimicry artist.


Ramanathan, aged 74, passed away yesterday and will be survived by wife Banumathi, and his son and daughter Sai Guru Balaji and Sai Bala respectively.


He has acted in films like Naam, Sparisam, Mansoru, Kovil Yaanai and a lot more. He has also received a lot of awards from the Nadigar Sangam and the State Government of Tamil Nadu.


The final rites were performed today, and the funeral procession will start at 4:30 pm today. He resided at Srinivasa Perumal Kovil street, Royapettah.
