Actress Payal Ghosh had claimed that director Anurag Kashyap had misbehaved with her. She took to Twitter and posted,
@anuragkashyap72 has forced himself on me and extremely badly. @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji, kindly take action and let the country see the demon behind this creative guy. I am aware that it can harm me and my security is at risk. Pls help! https://t.co/1q6BYsZpyx

While Anurag denied the allegations, it was Taapsee Pannu defending him which seems to have created a storm considering the actress has always supported #MeToo and in the past had even rebuked a journalist saying women need to stand by women.
For you, my friend , are the biggest feminist I know.
See you on the sets soon of yet another piece of art that shows how powerful and significant women are in the world you create :) 🤗 https://t.co/M9AgMDHTPH

Netizens didn't lose any time to point out the alleged hypocrisy. Comments to her tweet read,
Selective support to the victims of the abuse?
Shame on you.
Rape is not a rape when Taapsee's friends do it. #ArrestAnuragKashyap https://t.co/ag5cNcsxXN
Hypocrite. WTF happened to believe all women? (sic)
The National Commission for Women has promised to look into Payal's complaint.
