The South Indian Artistes' Association (SIAA), popularly known as Nadigar Sangam, had recently witnessed elections on June 23, and it was a direct contest between two teams, namely the outgoing Nasser-led Pandavar Ani and the K. Bhagyaraj and Ishari K. Ganesh led Swami Sankaradas Ani.
After the polling got finished at 5 P.M, the respective teams conducted press conferences. Swami Sankaradas Ani, in its press conference, had claimed that some members of the Pandavar Ani were involved in malpractices.
Actor Srikanth, who is contesting for the ost of working committee member with the Swami Sankardas Ani ticket, had claimed that actor-director Praveen Gandhi, one of the representatives of Pandavar Ani, was involved in malpractice. The actor had also quipped that after putting forth the complaint to the supervising judge, they have declared Praveen Gandhi's vote to be null and void. Producer Ishari K. Ganesh commented that "(Praveen Gandhi) is a representative of Pandavar Ani, he shouldn't have done this mistake and his team shouldn't have permitted that either."
Producer Ishari K. Ganesh had also complained that the polling officer overseeing the elections was a member of Pandavar Ani. He had also expressed that the voting ballot will be safer only when it is under police custody. The team had concluded by thanking the press media for extensively covering the polls and the Chennai Police for providing security to conduce free and fair elections.
