Early this morning, it was announced that Suriya's 36th film, produced by Dream Warrior Pictures and directed by Selvaraghavan, would hit the screens for Diwali 2018. Interestingly, Suriya's 35th film, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, directed by Vignesh Shivn, is scheduled for a Pongal 2018 release.
Looking back at Suriya's film career, he has previously had two festival releases in the same year in 2001. In the mentioned year, Suriya had Friends releasing for Pongal (Jan 14) and Bala's directorial Nandha (Nov 14) releasing for Diwali 2001. Now, after a gap of 17 long years, Suriya will be having two back to back festival releases in the year 2018.
It is equally going to be a celebratory moment for Suriya fans too, as their favourite star's two important films are going to release on two important festivals of the year.
We had reported a while ago that, Suriya’s next with director Selvaraghavan will start rolling from January 2018 and has been announced to release for Diwali 2018.
Actor Ajith’s next project with Siruthai Siva is also expected to start rolling from February 2018 and if speculations are to be believed, this project would also look to zero down on Diwali 2018 for its release.
Meanwhile, Vijay and Murugadoss’ next together is also expected to start soon and just as Thuppakki or Kaththi did, this project might also come for Diwali. If all these three actors’ movies release for next year’s Diwali, it is going to be a bombastic big celebration for all the fans.
However, it seems to be a tad bit too early to confirm the same. If at all this is happening, it is sure that Diwali 2018 is going to be an extremely happening one with three big star film releases.
