Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar faced quite a few controversies in the past few days through various forms from different politicians. As a result, the team of Sarkar agreed to remove a shot from the film, along with two mutes. The revised version started to play in the theatres from last evening.
Sun Pictures released an official press statement addressing the whole issue. The statement read, "Members from the ruling party staged protests and created chaos in popular theatres against few scenes from Sarkar.
Keeping in mind, the protection and safety of our audience who come to the theatres to watch the film, and abiding by the request placed by theatre exhibitors and distributors, we have removed one or two scenes that are found to be controversial, according to them."
