TITANIC’S RECORD IN JEOPARDY?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has achieved an elephantine feat of crossing a monstrous 2 billion USD worldwide gross in just over 50 days. Star Wars is only the third film in the history of world cinema to cross over $2 billion, after Titanic (1997) - 2.18 billion and Avatar (2009) - 2.78 billion.

Titanic attained 2.18 billion from 2 releases, but Star Wars has achieved 2 billion in just 53 days in a single release. Will Star Wars overtake Titanic in the coming days is something that we will have to wait the see.

Avatar’s collection still looks unbeatable for the time being and it might take another James Cameron product to set a new industry hit.
