There was a success meet held by the Sketch team yesterday (January 17, 2018), that saw all the actors and technicians take to the stage and talk about the post-release response. Talking about the movie Sketch and also about Chiyaan Vikram, actor Sriman said:
“I can remember, 18 years ago during Sethu, it was Chiyaan Vikram who taught me what acting is. After 18 years, it is amazing to share screen space with the great actor. For Sketch, we had to adapt to a proper North Chennai slang which was given to us on the platter by the direction team and the director Vijay Chander. Sketch is being well received by audiences and I really thank director Vijay Chander, Thanu sir and Vikram sir for the opportunity to be a part of it.”
Chiyaan Vikram's Sketch directed by Vijay Chander released this Pongal as a festive treat. The crew organised a success meet recently in which the actor thanked everyone who worked in the film.
He said "Dhanu Sir and I wanted to do a movie for a long time which was commercial and also very different. I heard a lot of scripts but I wasn't convinced with any. When Vijay Chander narrated this script to me, I was awestruck. I am thankful to my DOP Sukumar for introducing Vijay to me.
To be very honest, I didn't expect the film to shape up this great when the script was narrated to me. Vijay knows the knack of conveying everything in a punch-dialogue. When I asked him for the secret behind this, he said that he practices speaking punch dialogues early in the morning just like how we jog or exercise. I admire his comic sense and his taste in music so much and that is why the songs by Thaman have become a chartbuster.
Vijay, you are in a very beautiful stage right now because there's nothing like a first hit. I was the same as you when I enjoyed my first hit Sethu. So enjoy this moment and thank you, Vijay, for inspiring me so much.
I also want to thank Producer Thanu because when Thanu Sir stepped in, I was sure that I will have to do nothing for the marketing.
I want to thank each and every fan of mine who enjoyed this film and owned its success like theirs'. I know every actor enjoys such fandom, but my fans are the best. I also thank the media for being supportive both personally and professionally. Also, I thank each and everyone who's worked for the film."
