Actor Sonu Sood has emerged as a ray of hope for families suffering physically and monetarily due to COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown. The actor-cum-philanthropist helps several people everyday and the requests include arranging money for their surgeries and delivering oxygen cylinders and life-saving tablets to them.
Fondly called as the 'messiah of migrants', the actor has also helped hundreds of migrant workers in the first wave of the pandemic reach home by arranging buses for them. With the second wave continuing to infect more than a lakh people everyday and killing thousands, Sonu Sood shared an emotional post about how he wasn't able to save the lives of two young patients who were suffering from the deadly disease.
He posted on Twitter saying, "A 25 years boy whom we were trying to save, lost his battle to covid today. All these days despite knowing that his survival chances of survival were minimal. l would speak to the doctor everyday with hope.Never had the guts to share the reality with his parents, who knew what was coming. When u lose someone, u wish u could save someone."
Speaking about the second patient, he said, "Another 29 year young bodybuider whom we saved is now critical in a hospital in telangana.Spoke to the inconsolable sister for 20 mins and gave her hope." He admitted that he "felt very sad to see so much sorrow around".
Fans of Sonu Sood, who got emotional, tried to cheer him up and asked him to continue helping the poor and needy.
