He said, "I have worked with Vijay long back during Kushi, but he has not changed even a bit till now. Whenever I request him, he makes sure that he attends my film's audio launch functions. He is always there when I need him. Vijay plays three roles in the film, and one of the roles is our Mannin Maindhan, a Madurakaaran. That one single role is enough for the film to become a super hit.

Atlee wanted me to play the villain role in the film narrated the film's script to me in three hours and I knew at that time itself, that this film would become a sure shot hit. If a crazy Vijay fan wants to direct Vijay, then the best example is Atlee. Mersal will surely create the biggest records in the box office collections."
