Acting is not the only part of cinema that SJ Suryah had ventured into. He first worked as an assistant director, then turned director in 'Vaali'. After few more films as director, he ventured into acting as hero and then as villain, and then returned to acting in antagonist roles. He had earlier co-produced Isai.

His last film was comedy entertainer 'Monste'r, in which he was paired along with Priya Bhavani Shankar. Directed by Nelson Venkatesan, Monster went on to be a critical and commercial success. Now currently he will be venturing into a different department of the film industry.

According to our sources, it has been confirmed that SJ Suryah will be taking up the role of a producer in Director Radha Mohan's next project. The director's last project was Kaatrin Mozhi with Jyothika and Vidaarth. Also, the cinematographer roped in for the movie is Richard M Nathan, who notable work as lensman includes Comali, Vanakkam Chennai etc.
