It is well known that popular producer and distributor Singaravelan is the man who helped release Vemal's last film Mannar Vagaiyra, smoothly.
Now, he has bought the distribution rights of Vemal's next Kanniraasi, which is slated to hit the screens in March. It is also to be noted that Singaravelan has come forward to finance and distribute all of Vemal's future films.
Actor Vemal has signed his next film with newcomer S. Muthukumaran, bankrolled by Shameem Ibrahim of King Movie makers. The movie, titled Kanni Rasi has Varalaxmi Sarathkumar playing the female lead, while Pandiarajan, Robo Shankar and Yogi Babu play important roles.
Speaking about the film's story, Muthukumaran said: "The movie has all members of Vemal's family belonging to Kanni Rasi. Everyone in the house had a love marriage, while Vemal has other ideas. He wishes to marry a girl of his parents' choice. At this point, Varalaxmi and her family shift their residence opposite Vemal's house. The way things pan out between both the families forms the rest of the story."
The movie has S. Selvakumar handling the camera and Vishal Chandrasekar composing music.
