Shraddha Srinath of Kannada U Turn fame will be seen in quite a few Tamil films, the notable one being Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai. Having completed the film, she shares her experience working in it.
Working with Mani Ratnam
Shooting with Mani sir was something that I had never dreamt of so early in my career. He is one of those legends whose work you worship. The idea of working with him had given a shock to me, not even a surprise, a very very pleasant shock at that. He is very inspirational. To me, it was more of watching him work and go about his things. All those years that he has put in the industry, it shows. Still, people wait for his films and that’s the kind of legacy he has. To have worked with such a legend in itself is a big accomplishment for me which looks nice in my resume. It was surely a learning experience for me.
Did Mani Ratnam appreciate you?
There was one scene, an introductory one which Mani sir was looking at the monitor and smiling. He looked really happy. All actors wait for the smile on the director’s face, it is priceless.
