Shraddha Srinath who is a part of Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai and Kannan’s Ivan Thanthiran has bagged an important role in Pushkar-Gayathri’s Vikram Vedha. The U Turn girl shares her excitement here and also updates on her other projects.
Vikram Vedha
The talks for this project began long ago when the trailer of U Turn released. I got a call saying that Pushkar-Gayathri are interested to consider me for a role in their film and to meet them when I am in Chennai. I met them. Very recently, in September, Pushkar told that he would give me two intense/difficult scenes and that I would be required to do an audition/screen test. I came to Chennai and I completed. In October, it was finalized.
How do you feel to be paired with Maddy?
The day I got selected, I was watching Maddy’s Tanu Weds Manu Part 2 on TV. I was looking at the scene dreamily at Maddy and thinking about the way in which he was looking at his heroine in the film. That’s when I got the call and Pushkar, as a matter of fact, told me, I was selected. I was like, give a little build-up!! It was such a sweet coincidence.
Very recently, the entire team decided to socialize, Pushkar-Gayathri, me, Maddy and others. Maddy is so simple, charming and absolutely down-to-earth that it is incredible. I am very excited and on top of the world.
I will be sharing screen space with Vijay Sethupathi as well, but I am yet to meet him.
Kaatru Veliyidai
I have wrapped up my portions in Kaatru Veliyidai. The shoot really went very well, especially the Leh schedule. It was fun as everyone was in a happy mood. The sequence we shot was also a lot of fun and everything went on well.
Will you be dubbing for Kaatru Veliyidai?
Yes, I will be. I speak Tamil and my dialogues. Besides that, my communicative skills in Tamil are getting better. I cannot have a full-length conversation in Tamil, I am sure I will get there eventually.
Ivan Thanthiran
I am done with my first schedule and have my next one coming up. I will be starting from the end of this month- 29th November or 1st December. That should pretty much cover the major talkie portions of the film. Apart from it, maybe we will have a song to complete.
