On September 2, fans and celebrities woke up to the shocking news of Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla's death. The actor, who enjoys a massive fan following on social media and acted in movies like 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', suffered a massive heart attack. Cooper Hospital, Mumbai, has confirmed his death. He was 40.
Shukla began his career in showbiz as a model and made his acting debut with a lead role in the television show 'Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na'. He later appeared on shows such as 'Jaane Pehchaane Se… Ye Ajnabbi', 'Love U Zindagi' but became a household name with the long-running TV show 'Balika Vadhu'.
The show was a runaway success and dominated TV ratings for years. The serial was dubbed in many languages, it was called Mann Vasanai in Tamil and Chinnari Pellikuthuru in Telugu. It was only a few weeks back that another 'Balika Vadhu' actress Surekha Sikri passed away after a prolonged illness.
In 2014, Shukla made his Bollywood debut with the Karan Johar-produced 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' where he had a supporting role.
Fans and celebrities who were devastated with his loss, took to social media to share their memories with him. They condoled the demise of the popular actor and noted that this was an "unbelievable news" and came as a "total shock".
