Actor Shanthnu was last seen in the multistarrer ‘Vaanam Kottatum’, where he played a pivotal role. The actor recently donned the director’s hat for his short film ‘Konjom Corona Nraiyya Kadhal’. The lockdown shortfilm shot indoors features him anddd his wife Kiki and it received a tremendous response from the audience, garnering over 1.7 Million views on YouTube.
In an exclusive telephonic interview with Behindwoods, Shanthnu opened up about the short film and the amazing response the movie received. Shanthnu said “I’m really happy with the response we’ve got for the short film, and how the audience were able to connect with the movie.”
When asked about what Thalapathhy Vijay had told about the short film, Shanthnu said “I actually sent him the teaser just casually. Surprisingly, he replied saying ‘Adra Adra.. Fact’u Fact’u Fact’u.’ I was really excited that he liked the teaser. Later, I sent him the movie and he had really liked it.”
Speaking about the experience of being a director, Shanthnu said “It was a very different and difficult experience for me. I had to shoot everything, put it in the system, check it out and then shoot again. There was a lot of hardwork involved for a short film. I can feel how much effort each filmmaker puts through for feature films.”
Shanthnu also revealed that he has written another script during the lockdown.“I have written another script now. Shooting this has some technical barriers right now, as this film be on a bigger note. I am in talks with a few technicians, trying to figure out the logistics of this movie”, said Shanthnu.
On the work front, Shanthnu is currently gearing up for the release of his next biggie ‘Master’, where he is touted to be playing a crucial role alongside Thalapathy Vijay. The movie has Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi locking horns with each other for the first time and has Malavika Mohanan, Arjun Das and Andrea playing pivotal roles, along with Shanthnu. Shanthnu is also currently working on a couple of films - 'Raavana Kootam' directed by Vikram Sugumaran and another yet-to-be titled film for Netflix. Watch this space for more updates.
