Director Shankar's magnum opus 2.0 is all set to hit the screens on November 29, and with Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar on board, there is no stopping this mega-budgeted project!
2.0 is produced by Lyca Productions and the announcement for this sequel to Enthiran (2010), came over 3 years ago when the team started the huge amount of work required for this biggie.
Over the years, one important question that everyone seems to be curious about is the budget for the film. Since it has been claimed as the most expensive Indian film, we decided to ask director Shankar about it, during a super exclusive conversation with the pan-Indian star.
He said, "
Only the producers know the exact amount. I told them the whole story before starting the film and they knew how much would be required for everything. They went into it, knowing how much it would cost them. But beyond that, we had some unexpected expenses in the VFX side.
As far as I know, for the film, it must have cost between 400 and 450 crores. But the producers have spent for the publicity and other production costs, so only they are aware of that."
