Kathir's recent social entertainer Pariyerum Perumal got a lot of praise from industry stalwarts. People appreciated the film for its gritty storytelling and its great performances. The latest to join this list is director Shankar.

He took to Twitter to praise the film: "Pariyerum Perumal movie is like literature in cinema.. deep and disturbing... purely thought provoking...The killer was so terrifying while Jo is a character that’s soothing and softening element used at apt situations.Excellent work by the dir Mari Selvaraj."

Shankar, as we know, is a perfectionist and you need to make a very good film to get praised from this master craftsman. This must come as a pleasant news to the Pariyerum Perumal team, coming from one of the biggest directors in Tamil cinema.

It must be noted that Shankar recently praised Vijay Sethupathi's 96 and Vishnu Vishal's Ratsasan as well.
