Shankar is directing a Hindi film starring Ranveer Singh. It has been officially announced that this film is a remake of the hit Tamil film 'Anniyan' that starred Vikram. The film is being produced by Dr. Jayantilal Gada on behalf of Pen Studios.
Filming for the film is set to begin in mid-2022. Shankar took to Twitter and penned: He is a maverick and charismatic showman no one else can play! Welcome aboard, @RanveerOfficial Can't wait for this magnificent journey to begin mid 2022. (sic).

Shankar is also scripting a movie for Ram Charan that is to be produced by Dil Raju.
