Director Selvaraghavan's NGK released on 31st May amid much hype and fanfare. Written and helmed by Selvaraghavan, this political thriller has Suriya playing the male lead and the actor is paired opposite Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh.
After a day of the film's release, Selvaraghavan posted a note in his official Twitter account, thanking fans and audiences for showering love and support for the film. The acclaimed filmmaker had also mentioned that you will get to see a lot of layers of the protagonist, Nandha Gopalan Kumaran alias NGK, if you watch the film closely.

Apart from the leads, NGK also stars Uma Padmanabhan, Bala Singh, Ilavarasu and Ponvannan in crucial supporting roles. The film features songs and background score by Yuvan Shankar Raja while Sivakumar Vijayan had cranked the camera. Actor Suriya will also be seen in the KV Anand-directed thriller Kaappaan, the Sudha Kongara directorial Soorarai Pottru and the yet-to-be-titled project which will be directed by 'Siruthai' Siva.
