NATIONAL AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR'S PLEA TO GOVERNMENT

In a recent event regarding the awareness about documentary films, National Award winning director Seenu Ramasamy lamented about not able to shoot in our country freely.

He said, “I am always getting invites from other countries requesting me to shoot there, showcase their culture to the world through my films, offering to even give me half the cost of shooting.

But here, I am not permitted to show the places where my people live, on screen. Even during vacation, we are not allowed to shoot in government organizations, colleges, legislative assembly, museum, hospitals and other places where life goes on.

I place my request to the government to permit us to shoot in these locations. Directors like me who want to chronicle the places where we lived should be allowed to shoot in such locales".
