The announcement about Sivakarthikeyan turning producer was made yesterday (February 19), which came as a pleasant surprise for everyone. This film will be directed by SK's close friend and multi-talented Arunraja Kamaraj. As said earlier, this film will be about the aspirations of a young girl from a middle-class family to become a successful cricketer.

While Aishwarya Rajesh has been signed to play the protagonist role, as the lead, Sathyaraj will essay the role of Aishwarya's father. The technical crew includes a bunch of talents - Dinesh Krishnan (Cinematography), Dhibu Ninan Thomas of 'Maragadha Naanayam' fame (Music), Ruben (Editing), Lalgudi N Ilayaraja (Art), Pallavi Singh (costume designer), and Vinci Raj (poster designer).

Thaanaa Serndha Koottam was Dinesh Krishnan's previous film, while Ruben's previous venture was Mersal and Vivegam. Pallavi Singh recently made headlines for bagging the prestigious Thalapathy 62 project. Some big names associated with the technical department seem to be a big asset for the film. 
 

Talking about his new avatar, and this project, producer Sivakarthikeyan says, "Film industry had given me the name and the fame. I owe a lot to the industry. I feel it is my responsibility to help my friends realise their dreams, the friends who have stood beside me through thick and thin, we have always shared the same dream of achievement and glory. 

Arunraja Kamaraj is very talented and he had shown a glimpse of promise as a director when he was a student itself. When he narrated this script to me, I was able to connect with it, as I also hail from a middle-class family. The dreams and ambitions of the lead role is the fulcrum of the movie. Sathyaraj sir plays the doting father while Aishwarya Rajesh plays the protagonist role. Ilavarasu sir and Rama play supporting roles.

There is another interesting role that needed a handsome talented youngster, and the search ended with Darshan who plays that role and incidentally, he happens to be my close associate too. We have initiated the shooting with a pooja in Lalgudi in Trichy district today. Myself, Arunraja Kamaraj and Dhibu, we all studied in the same college and hail from the same city. And this makes the choice of location for the first-day shoot very important. At this juncture, I would like to thank the media friends, my well-wishers and above all my fans who were very supportive in my travel so far.
