There has been a lot of call to ban TikTok, a video-sharing social networking service owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company, used to create short dance, lip-sync, comedy and talent videos.
It all started when a YouTube celebrity Carry Minati roasted a TikTok star, the video of which got 70 million stars and was eventually taken down, citing cyberbullying. This caused for his fans to ask for a ban on TikTok.
Meanwhile, there was also the issue of a TikTok user Faizal Siddiqui, who has over 12 million followers, being accused of propogating violence against women, which he has denied.
Meanwhile, popular actress Samyuktha Hegde has reacted to the entire matter and said,
Banning a platform won't change the mentality of the people on the platform, the platform will cease to exist while the people will find a new platform to upload their cringe content :)
Ps: personally I don't care what happens to tiktok anyway #weneedtochange #changefromwithin
