Actor Salman Khan recently met Mirabai Chanu, the Manipur weightlifter who made India proud by winning a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics this year in the 49 kg category.
Sharing the picture on his social media handles, Salman Khan said, "Happy for u silver medalist @mirabai_chanu .. lovely meeting with u ... best wishes always!". In the photo, Salman was seen wearing a black T shirt and a shawl around his neck and hugging Mirabai. Mirabai reshared the image and wrote, "Thank you so much @BeingSalmanKhan sir. The picture received a lot of love from fans. However, a section of them trolled the 'Sultan' actor for his picture with the Olympic medallist. The photo grabbed eyeballs and was a subject of intense discussion. Why? It was because of the shawl that Salman was wearing which had two deer imprinted on it. Netizens who noticed this started trolling him over his alleged involvement in 1998 black buck poaching case.
Another section of people defended the actor saying the pictures of deer were in fact of the endangered Sangai subspecies of brow-antlered deer found only in Manipur.
Salman Khan, who was last seen in, has Mahesh Manjrekar’s action thriller ‘Antim: The Final Truth’, 'Tiger 3' and also the sequel to 'Kick' in the pipeline.
