Recently, the media was alive with the latest hot news that Thalapathy Vijay's Makkal Iyakkam has been registered as a political party, courtesy of the words of Vijay's father S A Chandrasekhar.
But, Vijay had come forward with an official statement of his own about the same news - stating that he was unaware of such an initiative and said that he and his fans association had connection with the party, asking his fans not to join the party because it was started by his dad. He also mentioned that he would take appropriate consequential action if anyone uses his name or picture pertaining to any proceedings.
Now, Vijay's father has replied to some queries of the media regarding this issue. He said that the strong speculation that him and Vijay not on speaking terms for 5 years is utterly baseless and not true. Though he did not give a clear reply as to whether Vijay was informed about the political party registration or not, SA Chandrasekhar mentioned that since the necessity to form a political party arose, he did that.
"I registered it as a political party just to encourage fans who have been doing good deeds for a long time. There is no other intention. I am his first fan and hence I did it - the organization has been on from 1993 and it was time the ardent fans were recognized for their work", SAC said.
