''FIVE OF US IN A BOAT IN FREEZING COLD. WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED?''

Deekay’s second directorial Kavalai Vendam (KV) is all set to hit the screens tomorrow (24th Nov). The film stars Jiiva and Kajal Aggarwal in the leads supported by R J Balaji, Bobby Simha, Sunaina and others. RJ Balaji tells us how exciting it was to work in the film

How was it working in Kavalai Vendam?
Working with Jiiva, Kajal, Bobby, Sunaina, director Deekay, DoP Abhinandan and others was wonderful. We all belong to almost the same age group and it was like going to a picnic with college friends.

We shot most of the film in Ooty. It took some time for all of us to get closer. Relationships evolved slowly with the progress of the film and the bonding grew stronger as the days went past. By the end of the film, we were almost like a family. This bonding will also be reflected in the film.

Funny/Memorable moment
We shot on a boat in a lake in Ooty. We were there in the boat for almost 6 days and it was pouring heavily. Five of us plus Deekay and DoP! We could not go out and it was freezing cold outside. If the end of the world is imminent and if few people are caught together, how close they will get? Same way, we got very close. Five of us in a boat in freezing cold. What would have happened? Yes, all those things happened!!!! Don’t imagine! A good friendship had formed! (laughs)

What to look forward in KV?
Kavalai Vendam is a young and a fun film to watch. It is a film where you can relate your life with your friends. You will find incidents that happen in a friend’s group.  There won’t be any pretense in the film. No wannabe jokes or scenes. Like the Censor certification U/A says, teenagers can go to the film with their parents.
