Yesterday (24th September), Former Australian cricketer and commentator Dean Jones passed away due to a cardiac arrest in Mumbai. Dean had been a part of IPL’s elite commentary panel called ‘Dugout’. The sudden demise of Dean Jones has left the entire cricket fraternity and the audience shell shocked.
RJ Balaji, who is a prominent member in the Tamil commentary panel of the Indian Premier League took to twitter to share his condolences on Dean’s demise. RJ Balaji also revealed that he travelled in the same car along with Dean Jones only a day ago.
RJ Balaji’s tweet read “Shocked and devastated to know that Dean Jones is no more. We were traveling in the same car last night. Still couldn’t believe it is true. Life is so fragile. You’ll be missed Deano.”
Many cricketers and commentators have shared their condolences to Dean Jones’ family over social media. Virat Kohli wrote “Shocked to hear about the tragic loss of Dean Jones. Praying for strength and courage to his family and friends.”
Former Aussie captain Ricky Ponting wrote “Heartbroken to hear of Dean Jones' passing. He was someone I looked up to and emulated growing up, and then I was lucky to become close friends with him later on. He was always great fun to be around and I loved the time I spent with him talking cricket and golf. RIP mate.”
