Veteran yesteryear actress, KV Shanthi, passed away recently on 21st September, on Monday at Chennai. The actress was aged 81.
Shanthi ventured into the industry 1950s and remained a famous choice among filmmakers and an audience favorite through the 60s and 70s. She played a supporting role in her debut movie Padatha Painkili, which came out in 1953.
After her debut, she starred in about 100 movies in Malayalam, Tamil. Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. However, she regularly collaborated with Merryland Studios, one of the legendary production houses - then and now, which bankrolled her debut movie.
She passed away due to age-related health ailments at her Chennai Kodambakkam residence. Fans and stars have offered their condolence at the loss of this great talent.
