RIP: PUNEETH RAJKUMAR CONTINUES TO LIVE AFTER HIS DEATH - FANS REMEMBER HIS NOBLE DEEDS!

Hundreds of fans assembled outside his residence and the hospital. Following the announcement of his death, condolences poured in from fans and colleagues from the film fraternity, as well as sports personalities and politicians. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of the Kannada actor and said, "cruel twist of fate snatched away from us a prolific and talented actor", adding that coming generations will fondly remember him for his works and wonderful personality.

Following his death, security has been beefed up all across Karnataka including state capital Bengaluru to manage the situation and all movie shows have been cancelled in the state. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said, “We will ensure that all arrangements are made. All will be able to pay their respects tomorrow. We will give him state honours. Last rites will be performed as per the family’s wishes."

Following in the footsteps of his late father Dr Rajkumar, 'Power Star' Puneeth Rajkumar, who breathed his last today, had decided to donate his eyes. Apart from being an ace actor, he also believed in social causes and donated generously to charities and foundations. Last year, the power star donated Rs 50 lakh to the Chief Minister Relief Fund to help the state fight the pandemic. During Karnataka floods, he donated Rs 5 lakh to the CM Natural Calamity Relief Fund. He also makes regular donations to a couple of Kannada medium schools.

Puneeth is the youngest of the five children of matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar and Parvathamma. He has acted as a hero in over 29 Kannada films. Fondly called as 'Appu', Puneeth was last seen in Santhosh Anandrram's 'Yuvarathnaa', which released early this year. Puneeth is survived by his wife, Ashwini Revanath, and two daughters, Drithi and Vandhitha. Puneeth's elder brother, Shiva Rajkumar, is also a popular actor.
