THE MAGIC OF KAATRU VELIYIDAI

When it comes to Mani Ratnam’s films, especially if it’s going to be centering around the finest emotion- love, one can be sure of an experience of euphoria or ecstasy through the visuals. And the just released ‘glimpse of Kaatru Veliyidai’ is no exception either.

The 47-second footage starts with the mouthing of ‘Kaatru Veliyidai Kannamma’ in a baritone, which beautifully segues into a picturesque road with a bus moving ahead, flanked on either side by lush greenery that instantly zooms into the angelic Aditi Rao Hydari peeping from the bus with her unruly tresses playing hide and seek on her face. The snowflakes dancing around her face up the aesthetic value in the frame with the mellifluous female vocals singing 'vaan varuvaan' for company.

The next shot, a long one at that, has a male character (Karthi) walking with mountains as the backdrop culminating with ‘Nindan Kaadhalai Enni Kalikkindren’. The pleasingly shot footage comes to an end with the announcement about the single on Feb 2nd with the caressing female locals chaperoning us to the end.
