'' ALL THAT WAS SHOWN IN THE MOVIE DID NOT REALLY HAPPEN''

The recent Bollywood blockbuster, Dangal, showcased one of India's national wrestling coach in a bad light. The character, Pramod Kadam was played by Girish Kulkarni. The actual coach of Geeta and Babita, PR Sondhi, has come out and said, ‘’All that was showed in the film had not happened in the 3 years in which Geeta and Babita trained under me’’.

To this allegation, Aamir Khan has answered saying, ‘’In every biopic, a little bit of fiction is added but the essence of the story is kept intact’’. So the scenes in which the coach lock horns with Mahavir Phogat, the father of Geeta and Babita, up in a room before the finals of the Commonwealth Games did not happen in reality.
