One of superstar Rajinikanth's major releases, Darbar, has hit the screens on January 9 and the fans have given a thumbs up for portraying their idol as a cop, a role that was previously donned by Rajinikanth in the 1992 film Pandiyan.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, the emotional action drama also features Nayanthara, Nivedha Thomas, Yogi Babu, Suniel Shetty in central roles. The film is produced by Subaskaran under the banner Lyca Productions.
Today (January 10) also marks the first anniversary of Rajinikanth's previous film Petta. Released in 2019, the blockbuster was directed by Karthik Subbaraj and the ensemble featured Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui in central roles. Petta was considered to be a homage of Rajinikanth's cinema.
Recently, the director opened up, thanking the star and the banner Sun Pictures for the opportunity that created a lot of life-changing moments for his team.
