Thalaivar Rajinikanth's latest movie Darbar is having a fabulous run at the theatres currently. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the movie released on the 9th of January this year featured Nayanthara in the lead role. The cast also included Nivetha Thomas, Yogi Babu, Suniel Shetty amongst others. 

Rajinikanth's Periyar controversy court dismisses the case

Recently, Rajinikanth had been embroiled in a controversy on a remark in his speech about the 1971 rally conducted in Salem by Periyar EVP. Clarifying on the same, Rajinikanth has mentioned that he cannot ask sorry for his remark, as he did not speak anything that is untrue, which evoked more disruptions.

The actor's statement was received with positive and negative feedback and the tags on the issue were even trending on Twitter. Cases were filed on the actor's statement by Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam and today, reportedly, the case has said to be withdrawn and that the court has dismmissed the cases filed.
