ONE YEAR OF KABALI

When the news about two-film-old director Ranjith getting an opportunity to direct the superstar Rajinikanth for a film emerged, it was a collective jaw dropping moment for both film goers and the industry. Yes, we are talking about Kabali which celebrates its first anniversary today the 22nd July.

The film was about the plight of Malaysian Tamils and how the character played by Rajinikanth acted as their crusader in the film. Kabali had Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Kalaiayarasan, John Vijay and many others. Santhosh Narayanan’s music hit the right notes and overall this film produced by Kalaipuli Thanu for his V Creations did superb business at the box office too. Not just that, it fetched another chance for Ranjith to direct Rajinikanth in Kaala, which is an ongoing project now.
