THALAIVAR'S MASS SPEECH AT PETTA AUDIO LAUNCH

Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta audio launch is happening today (December 9) in a grand manner at a private college in the outskirts of Chennai. The songs of the film are composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the first two singles from the film are already chartbusters.
 

The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Sun Pictures with Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Sasikumar, and others, being part of the cast.

Rajinikanth's speech at Petta audio launch:

"Ennai vaazha vaikkum Dheivangal aana Tamizhaga Makkale.

Me and my team of Makkal Mandram are providing relief materials and essential needs to the Gaja cyclone victims. It is the time to help our people.

2.0 has become a blockbuster and I thank everyone for extending their support. The full credits belong to director Shankar and Lyca Productions.

2.0 is now a big hit and in a way, the start point for this franchise is Kalanithi Maran. If not for him, we wouldn't have even made Enthiran. After Enthiran's success, Kalanithi Maran met me and gave me a cheque of Rs 1 crore and asked me to do Endhiran 2, but things didn't fall into place at that time.

Recently, Sembian from Sun Pictures told me that they are restarting Sun Pictures again and Vijay is doing a film. He asked me if I could do a film for them. After agreeing to be a part, the first person who came to my mind was Karthik Subbaraj. I called him once again (second time) for the narration and this time, the story looked even more beautiful and complete.

The story of Petta happens in the backdrop of hill stations and hence we shot in Dehradun and other nearby places. We couldn't shoot in Tamil Nadu because of the ANBU THOLLAI. Vijay Sethupathi's character is called Jithu and it is a negative character. I was scared to know who would be playing that role, before getting to know that it was Vijay Sethupathi.

Vijay Sethupathi is a Maha Nadigan. It gave me an immense satisfaction to have acted alongside an artist like him. Trisha's role is a very brief one and I wasn't sure if she will do it. But when I got to know that she came on board, I was happy to hear. Sasikumar is a very nice human being, and I wish him all happiness, especially for his kind heartedness.

I am a baby when it came to romancing with Simran. It was a very refreshing experience. Karthik took me to my 80s and 90s days. He extracts the performances from his actors beautifully. I was happy to see a new version of my fan in the form of Karthik.

I was the most happiest person when I came to know that Anirudh will be the music director of this film. During his childhood, his parents identified the talent inside him. I still remember the piano, he had at that time, which was much bigger than his height. Dhanush once told me that Anirudh is the next A.R.Rahman in Kollywood.

My birthday is coming in the next two days, and I'd want to tell that I am not in the city for the special day. I request my fans to take it easily and I apologise if it is a disappointment for anyone. Thanks to Karthik Subbaraj for making me so comfortable in the shooting spot. It will be a feast for the audience."
