Kulmeet Makkar, CEO of the Producers Guild of India (PGI) passed away on Friday (May 1) due to heart attack. He was aged 60.
Celebrities expressed their condolences and paid tributes to the bereaved on social media. Producer cum director Karan Johar tweeted, "Kulmeet you were such an incredible pillar to all of us at the Producers Guild of India....relentlessly working for the industry and towards its enhancement and advancement... you left us too soon...We will miss you and always Remember you fondly.... Rest in peace my friend..."
Acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap wrote, "Kulmeet Makkar too.. what’s with April .. RIP." The news of his demise came as a shocker to the Indian film industry. Other industry veterans such as Hansal Mehta, G. Dhananjayan and Vishal Bhardwaj have also tweeted their condolences.
