The chirpy Priya Anand has signed her first Malayalam film Ezra and we catch up with her to find out more details on this.
“After I started my film career in Tamil, I was actually supposed to begin my film in Malayalam too. Before that a Telugu movie came about, and I could not manage my dates then.
Malayalam film industry completes all the pre-production work before they roll and wraps a film at one stretch. I could not give my dates en masse then. So it took six long years to launch myself in Malayalam. It has been long overdue. Finally, I have found time and this is the first movie that I signed this year. I wanted to make every other film that I sign (now) work around this film.
Jai, a writer, is directing Ezra and this is his first film. Prithviraj is my co-star. It is a horror film, based on a Jewish community. It is really interesting. The kind of research and the thought process that have gone into the script, I am impressed. Detailing is also excellent. I can’t tell you how excited I am to start the project. I am also extremely nervous because I have always dubbed for myself in all the languages that I have worked in. I hope I am able to get the language right while dubbing. I will be beginning this month end.
In Tamil, Koottathil Oruvan is ready and talkie portions are going on for Muthuramalingam now. I will finish that and join Ezra sets. In between I will also be doing my Kannada film”.
Wish you the best with your Malayalam debut Priya!
