2015 saw the birth of Sachy as a director, as he helmed his own script with Prithviraj and Biju Menon. The movie was titled Anarkali. After this, he again worked with Arun Gopy for Ramaleela, Shafi for Sherlock Toms, and Lal's son Jean Paul Lal for the recent blockbuster Driving License. The magic of Anarkali returned again in 2020, but in a different route. Sachy once again collaborated with Prithviraj and Biju Menon, this time as a director - and the massively successful Ayyappanum Koshiyum was born.
K. R. Sachidanandan, who had delivered to the film industry impressive film across various genres in the Malayalam film industry passed away on June 18, 2020. Sachy, one of the most revered screenwriters of Mollywood left this world leaving behind a void in the industry that can never be filled. His films will live forever in our hearts, for he has given movies for everyone - in many different variants of the art.
Actor Prithviraj has a special bond with Sachy, for he had worked with Sachy in almost many of his projects. When he was a writer, his debut direction, Prithviraj was almost Sachy's lucky charm in many ways, and even his last project Ayyappanum Koshiyum was with Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon in the lead roles.
Remember the famous Sachi-Sethu duo?? That was the starting point of Sachy's career. He started off with Chocolate, a feel-good college romance with Prithviraj and Jayasurya as the leading heroes, directed by Shafi. Up next, came another thriller Robin Hood, and true to its name, a perfect Robinhood story for the modern times, Sachy-Sethu duo did it for the second time with Prithviraj as the hero, and the project was helmed by Joshiy.
Prithviraj, in his latest Instagram post, has shared a loving one-liner in memory of the beloved director and comrade he misses still, and that single line hits so deep - the pain and the memory all etched in a few words - Check out his post here:
