One of the most iconic TV shows back then during the 90s was Shaktimaan undoubtedly. It was such a great craze amongst the kids that they would badly wait for the serial to be telecast on Sunday.
The first ever superhero show was aired on Doordarshan from September 13, 1997 to March 27, 2005. Producer Mukesh Khanna played the role of Shaktimaan and his alter ego "Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri".
Meanwhile, during the lockdown, television shows from the 80s and 90s like Ramayan, Mahabharat, Byomkesh Bakshi, and Circus making a return on television have already excited the fans and they were badly waiting for the return of this show. Mukesh Khanna has confirmed that the show will be back, and the date and time will be announced soon.
Recently, during an interview, Mukesh revealed that they are planning to be back with the sequel, "For the last three years, we have been working towards bringing out the second edition of Shaktimaan, which is contemporary but rooted in our values. We were working on the sequel because people wanted to know, aage kya hua (what had happened). I feel whenever we return to work after this crisis, I will be in a better position to bring out the second part because the demand for it is higher than ever before.”
