The entire world is currently undergoing a deadliest nightmare as the coronavirus threat is raising day by day. Most of the countries have taken several precautional measures like shutting down of the malls, movie theatres and institutes.
This particular move has been implemented in Tamil Nadu too. The Chief Minister, Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Sunday appealed to the general public to avoid travel out of the state for the next 15 days.
The government has ordered the shutdown of movie theatres and malls till March 31st in the border areas of Theni, Kanyakumari, Tirupur, Coimbatore, The Nilgiris, Krishnagiri, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Tirupattur, Ranipet, Erode, Dindigul, Dharmapuri and Virudhunagar.
Meanwhile, Tiruppur Subramaniam, the president of the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association has pointed out that the press release has been widely misinterpreted. He says, "Only the theatres in the border taluks of the 16 districts have been ordered to be closed and not the districts. I have asked for the clarifications too.”
Thereby, the upcoming Tamil movies that were scheduled to be released on March 20 and March 27 might be changing their plans due to the partial theatre shutdown decision announced by the Tamil Nadu Government.
