Surjith, 2-year-old boy who had been stuck in a borewell pit for the past three days, was rescued early today morning only to be found dead. Many celebrities have been marking their condolences for the child's family. Here's what popular actress and host Lakshmy Ramakrishnan has to say.
Noting her condolences for Surjith's family, Lakshmy has mentioned that she deeply regrets the loss of an innocent life, and recounts the struggle the child would have gone through and the family's plight. Though it is a tragic incident, she specifies that the worst part is that we are not learning from our mistakes.
Lakshmy Ramakrishnan requests everyone not to leave their young children without adult supervision, and to make their home and surroundings child safe if they have young children at home. Also, she mentions that she thinks about those children who do not have the basic necessities or the safety of a home, and are living on the streets exposed to traffic, pollution and abuse, and how their safety will be assured. thinking of those little children who don’t have basic necessities in order. Some don’t even have safety of home! So many in the streets exposed to the traffic and pollution and abuse. What does ‘safety’ mean to them?!!!
