In a shocking and saddening news that we came across, popular actor Faraaz Khan who was seen in Bollywood films such as Mehendi and Fareb and many more is currently battling for his life reportedly, in ICU in a private hospital in Bengaluru.
For the unversed, Faraaz is the son of Mahabharat actor and Amar Akbar Anthony fame Yusuf Khan. The actor suffered three consecutive seizures in a very short span due to a herpes infection in his brain that had spread from his chest and was also diagnosed with pneumonia after his lungs got infected.
The details about his condition were shared on the fundraiser, which was started by his family members Farhad Abousher and Ahmed Shamoon. “Faraaz had been suffering from a cough and an infection in his chest for nearly a year. Recently, the coughing had aggravated so due to the prevailing pandemic, he decided to consult the doctor over a video call. Over the video consultation on 8th October 2020, the doctor saw his condition and recommended that he gets himself admitted to a hospital as his cough was quite intense and to prevent any further infection, hospitalization was the best thing to do. So, immediately we called for an ambulance. However, what happened after that has shaken us up to the core.”
The statement also read, “The doctors are trying their best to get him out of danger but that will require another 7-10 days of critical care. This will cost us around Rs 25 lakhs. It has been years since Faraaz has worked in films. And 25 lakhs is a huge amount to be arranged” and urged his fans to donate.
Several celebrities like actress Pooja Bhatt and Salman Khan had come forward and offered their help. Taking to Instagram, actress Kashmera Shah wrote: “You are truly a great Human Being. Thank you for taking care of Faraaz Khan and his medical bills. Actor Faraaz Khan of Fareb game is in critical condition and Salman has stood by his side and helped him like he helps so many others. I am and will always remain a true admirer. If people don’t like this post I don’t care. You have a choice to unfollow me. This is what I think and fee.
