Ace director Mani Ratnam is currently busy with the pre-production process of 'Ponniyin Selvan', the silver screen adaptation of the five-part Tamil novella written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The director's last-helmed film, the ensemble gangster epic Chekka Chivandha Vaanam, went on to be a critical and commercial success.
The pre-production work of the upcoming epic movie is at full swing. Produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the film has a star cast that includes Aishwarya Rai playing as one of the leads. The other actors who are a part of the film, are yet to be known officially.
Other members of the star-cast include 'Chiyaan' Vikram, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, R.Parthiepan, Ashwin Kakumanu apart from Aishwarya. The film is jointly scripted by Mani Ratnam and 'Kaatrin Mozhi', 'Kurangu Bommai' fame actor Kumaravel. The cinematography of the film will be handled by the ace cinematographer, Ravi Varman.
It was earlier reported that the team would fly to Thailand a week before the film starts rolling on December 12th. The shoot is being planned for 40 days. Meanwhile, a pic shared by the veteran Bollywood stunt director, Sham Kaushal who is known for his works in Bajirao Mastani, Dangal and Gunday with the caption “Location recce in Thailand. Rab Rakha” is doing good rounds in the social media. For the unversed, Sham Kaushal is the father of Bollywood’s promising stars - Vicky Kaushal and Sunny Kaushal. Stay tuned!
