As a director, R Parthiepan is known for his unique, witty way of narrating a script. His next directorial Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga (KIN) will feature Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Parvathy Nair as leads while the likes of Simran, Thambi Ramaiah and Parthiepan himself will be seen playing pivotal roles in the film.
Parthiepan talks to Behindwoods about the progress of the film:
Your initial plan was to cast a fresh face to play the lead. How did Shanthanu come into play?
Like how I had introduced Santhosh in my previous film Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam, I preferred to launch another new hero in this film too, but things did not fall into place and the film did not take off for some reasons. Then I thought why not make Shanthanu act in it? He is someone who is in the industry for 8 years and waiting for a break. I hope KIN takes him to the next level and this I feel is my way of paying respect to my Guru.
Film’s progress?
51% percent of the film is over, which means more than half the portions have been filmed as of now. I am happy with the way KIN is shaping up. Sema satisfaction with Shanthanu’s work; he has given me more than what I expected from him. Sathya takes care of the music while Aegan fame Arjun Jena handles the cinematography.
