Nelson Venkatesan’s Oru Naal Koothu hit the screens on 10th June. Debutante Nivetha Pethuraj essaying the role of a techie Kavya had impressed one and all. It is refreshing to note that Nivetha had dubbed her own lines. She is also Miss India UAE. We catch up with the smart lady.
About you and your family
I was born in Madurai, lived in Tuticorin for ten years and then moved to Dubai during my middle school years. My dad is an engineer in Dubai. My mom is a housewife. I am a graduate in Human Resource management. My younger brother has completed college now. I will soon move to Chennai.
How did you bag Oru Naal Koothu?
Last year I won Miss India UAE. My costume designer who also designed for this movie had suggested my name to Nelson. I went for the auditions and got selected.
Working in Oru Naal Koothu
I was so comfortable working with the entire team. I just saw the film recently. I was a little nervous. I knew the story of the film but did not know the climax. When I saw the climax, I was taken aback. Mia always said that Nelson must have worked in the Bengali film industry and come here. He did not appear to be like a first time director at all. It was effortless working with Nelson.
Dinesh
It was great working with Dinesh. He is a very calm person but we had lots of fun whenever Balasaravanan was there; he made the shooting spot lively. I personally felt Dinesh looked the best in this film, appearance wise. He was well dressed in Oru Naal Koothu. He would soon become the heartthrob of many girls.
Further projects
I am looking out for good roles. Even if I do two films a year, its fine but I want them to be good in terms of quality.
Dubbing
I did the dubbing for my character in Oru Naal Koothu. I can speak Tamil fluently.
We wish you the best Nivetha!
