OFFICIAL: THIS TAMIL HEROINE CONFIRMED TO ACT IN 96 REMAKE!

Vijay Sethupathi - Trisha starrer 96 is one of the most loved films of this year, that fetched a great fan following. This breezy soulful romantic drama was directed by Prem Kumar, with music by Govind Vasantha.

The film is in consideration to be remade into different South Indian languages. The first official remake was announced to be in Kannada, titled '99'. The title look poster of the film was released recently.

Details on the lead cast of 99 has now been revealed. This Kannada remake of 96 will have Golden Star Ganesh and Bhavana (Deepavali fame) in the lead roles. It will be directed by Preetham Gubbi.

In one of her recent interviews, Bhavana confirmed her presence in the movie. The Aasal actress was reportedly quoted as saying, "I have not attempted remakes in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu, either because of date issues or the story not being appealing to me. I have been hesitant to take up remakes, especially reprising a role, which has already been appreciated. I guess everything fell in place for 99, that's the reason I took up the role.

I know Ganesh and his wife Shilpa, from the time we worked together in Romeo. Since I also know that the combination of Ganesh and director Preetham Gubbi work well, I decided to go ahead with the project. I watched the original film just three days ago, and I was completely impressed."
